Summary
The UK Health Forum (UKHF) warmly welcomes the Supreme Court’s judgement which will allow Scotland to implement Minimum Unit Pricing (MUP) on alcohol.
Commenting on the judgement, Professor Paul Lincoln, CEO of the UKHF said:
“Alcohol is the third leading cause of illness and disease in the UK. It is a major factor underpinning the stark inequalities in health between the least and most affluent people in society.
This is why the UKHF wishes to congratulate the Scottish Government on today’s achievement, and is calling on the Westminster Government to urgently introduce a MUP in England."
