Title
UKHF response to the Consultation on Cutting the Cost of Keeping Warm: a new fuel poverty strategy for England
Date09 October 2014
Summary
UKHF welcomes DECC’s call for a new and timely national fuel poverty strategy for England. A robust, ambitious and achievable strategy for reducing the number of fuel poor households in England is long over-due. We acknowledge DECC’s targets for the reduction of fuel poor homes by 2030, however we do not feel the targets are clear or ambitious enough.  In general, our key concerns with the proposed strategy are: lack of ambition; imprecise targets; lack of clarity; lack of a baseline; insufficient resources; and delivery arrangements need reform.
