UK Health Forum welcomes the launch of Action on Sugar
Date09 January 2014
Jane Landon, deputy chief executive, commenting on the launch of Action on Sugar today said: 'The UK Health Forum welcomes the formation of the advocacy group Action on Sugar and the much-needed focus it brings to sugar as a major contributor to overweight and obesity, diabetes and dental decay.  Policies, including taxes and incentives, to curb the promotion of sugary foods especially to children, remove the hidden sugar from processed foods and to support healthy diets should be priorities for the Government as part of its ambition to tackle avoidable mortality and give children a healthier start in life.’
