The 2015 edition of the America’s Health Rankings Annual Report finds that Americans are smoking less and living less sedentary lifestyles. At the same time, the country is facing complex health challenges that threaten Americans’ health and quality of life; obesity and diabetes are at all-time highs, while rates of drug deaths and children living in poverty are on the rise.  “Too many Americans today are developing chronic illnesses due to their lifestyle choices. The nation can and must work together to fight obesity, diabetes and other serious chronic conditions, and to amplify support for the nation’s most vulnerable populations through innovative community-based programs and solutions,” said Rhonda Randall, D.O., senior adviser to United Health Foundation and chief medical officer of United Healthcare Retiree Solutions.
