The purpose of this study was to evaluate Healthy Choices (HC) in a state-wide, school-based, multi-component obesity prevention program in the US, by examining school-level changes in students’ weight related behaviours and weight status, as well as the association of implementation program components with odds of developing overweight/obesity over three years.  This prevention program demonstrated improvements in nutrition and physical activity behaviours and weight outcomes in American middle-school students.  Team building appears to be important to the program’s effectiveness.
